Frequently Asked Questions

1. ADMISSION PROCESS:

In order for students to enroll in IHICA International Online Academy, they must got through the online application process:

A. Fill out the IHICA Online Application.

B. Provide all required and specified documentation.

C. Submit $325.00 USD Application Fee

D. Upon Acceptance into the Academy, each student is required to take the appropriate assessment testing for proper course placements.

 

 

 

 

2. COURSES AND GRADES AVAILABLE:  

Grades K-12 are available.  

A. Grade K-2 (ages 5-7) utilize the Horizon and/or the LifePac Curriculums. These curriculums utilize workbooks which will require additional fees per student.

B. Grades 3-12 (ages 8-17) utilize the Ignitia Online Curriculum.  Additional materials are assigned by facilitators as needed or suggested to maximize each students learning experience.   So that you can have an idea of the type of courses available for high school students (ages 13-17), we've listed them below. A more comprehensive IHICA International Online Academy Curriculum Syllabus will be available shortly to download from our website at www.ihica.com on the Online Academy tab.

3. EDUCATIONAL FACILITY:

Currently, International Institution participants of IHICA Online International Academy will be responsible for providing their own facilities, internet service, and computers.  If facilitators or needed, this will also be a responsibility of the local institution.  IHICA will provide administrative support in regards to registration, transcripts, student record maintenance (this is in regards to what has been completed through our institution), licensing, and trainings, etc. to insure that facilitators and students are properly utilizing the curriculum for maximum results.

4. APLLICABLE FEES:

A. Registration Fee: $325.00 USD Due at Registration

B. Annual Licensing Fee: $325.00 USD Paid annually (The initial registration fee covers this for the 1st year)

C. Distant Learning/Online Tuition: $1500.00 USD/student per semester ($3000.00 USD Annually)  

D. On Campus Students Tuition: $750.00* USD/month ($7,500.00 USD Annually) *Scholarships available for qualifying candidates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. QUALIFIATIONS FOR ADMISSIONS:  

A. Completed Application (found on our website www.ihica.com)

B. Please scan and attach the following documents when completing the application:

 

  • Previous school information

  • Any other specified documentation at the time of registration

 

C. Diagnostic Tests for Core Courses of Study

 

  • Math

  • English

  • Science

  • Social Studies

  • Word Building

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. UNIQUE BENEFITS FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

A. Our Dual Enrollment Program allows High School (ages 14-17) Students to earn credentials from their local institution as well as a US High School Diploma from IHICA International Online Academy upon graduation.  Having a US High School Diploma alleviates the student potentially being placed in any remedial courses when they come to the States for Higher Education.

 

B. Students can matriculate through the curriculum at their own pace of comprehension.  Goals are set and assessed by facilitators and students to insure students remain on task to optimum completion.  Exceptional students can complete their studies ahead of their expected graduation time depending on their individual efforts and dedication.  Some students in our institution have graduated 2 to 3 years ahead of schedule and moved directly on to the college or university of their choice.

 

C. Training Courses and Pre-Testing are available to all of our students for preparation in taking the ACT and SAT Tests (US Standardize Testing required to enter into US Colleges and Universities)

 

D. Students who graduate from the IHICA International Online Academy have the opportunity of having an I-20 extended to them for the purpose of studying abroad in the US.  Qualifying applicants must have successfully completed and participated in our program for a minimum of one consecutive academic school year.

 

E. Language, accent barriers are broken as the courses taught online are by American English speaking Instructors.  This gives the students an opportunity to catch on and get use to the speech and terminology in America, making the transition to continuing their education and life in the States much smoother.

 

F. High School students, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 could possibly be eligible for a Dual Enrollment program with Liberty University or Northwestern University via IHICA International Online Academy.  Courses can be taken that will allow students to also earn an Associate Degree from these Higher Learning Institutions at the same time of their graduation from high school.  There are additional cost involved in obtaining an Associate Degree.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. HIGHER EDUCATION AND ELECTIVE COURSES AVAILABLE:

8. ONLINE STUDENTS MODE OF OPERATION:

Online Students will complete course work online via the Ignitia Curriculum portal.  Access is granted by IHICA International Online Academy.  Students complete lessons daily and are monitored by facilitators.  Upon successful completion of lessons and quizzes, test are released by the facilitator for students to take. If the child makes less than an 80% on the test, they will be required to review the lesson and re-take the test again.  The process will continue until the test has been passed successfully.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

9. ELIGBILITY FOR I-20 EDUCATIONAL VISA WITH IHICA:

Students that have attended IHICA International Online Academy for a minimum of one year will be eligible to have an I-20 extended to them at our discretion. If the student is still of school age, they will be required to stay in approved IHICA Academy Housing. If the student has relatives in the States and desire to stay with them, they will have to undergo an interview and be approved by IHICA Personnel. Again, this approval is at our discretion.  The guidelines in such an instance are meticulously spelled out and will have to be strictly adhered to.
